Tell us a little about your career
I have been working on my musical career since I was 3 years old. My childhood consisted of many music lessons and many hours spent practicing. I had private lessons for vocal, piano, guitar, saxophone and dance. When I was 16 years old I realized that I wanted to mainly advance my musical career in jazz, but after my first year at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA I had decided to pursue my career in Music Production and Engineering, which is currently my main focus.
Tell us a bit about your family
My family is my biggest inspiration and my greatest supporters. I am so lucky to have such amazing people in my life. My whole family had immigrated to Canada from Moldova in 1990, back when it was part of the USSR. I was the first-born Canadian and grew up in a Russian-speaking home, with very profound family values. We have always been very close to one another, and supported each other in every way possible.
What do you do in your free time, and do you have any hobbies?
In my free time, I like to spend it with my family and friends, especially since I’ve spent so much time away from home, while at school. I enjoy spending time reading, playing the piano, spending time outdoors, watching some great films, and attending concerts. Outside of music, some of my hobbies include watching sports, biking, and swimming.
Who is your hero?
My heroes are my parents. They have raised me to be well rounded and a grounded individual, never letting me forget my roots, and always helping me move forward in my endeavors. I am especially in awe of the amount of courage they had to leave their home in the former USSR, and move their family over to a completely different world for a better life for us. I look up to my parents a lot, and am very grateful for the kind of life they have given me.
What are your future plans?
My current plan is to move to Los Angeles to further expand my career in the music industry, gaining valuable contacts along the way. Eventually, I hope to blossom into a position in the Artist and Repertoire division of a major record label.
Thank you Milan so much for this interview, and we wish you lots of luck in your career and future goals!
