Canada is ranked fourth among the most peaceful states in the world
The results of the Global Peace Index ranking were published recently. Canada became one of its leaders. The country jumped three spots from last year. Only Iceland, Denmark and New Zealand were more peaceful. The rankings of the country is assessed by several indicators, including - access to weapons in the country, demonstrating the violence, participation in organized conflict, political instability, crime situation, etc. For the majority of indicators, Canada ranked as 1st, the lowest and most ‘peaceful’ possible ranking. Overall, according to the GPI, the world has become more peaceful over the last year. The situation has improved in almost all countries - even in Somalia, remaining the world’s least peaceful country for a second year and Afghanistan, Iraq, Israel and Pakistan which were also in the bottom 10.
